This tunic and capri style pant are influenced by traditional Chinese garments. The wide front notch collar and pointed sleeve on the tunic echo traditional wear while the large front and back pleats, pockets and angled hem add a more modern touch. The back pleat is sewn into the collar, but the front pleat opens up allowing the garment to slide on over the head, then folds back and is hooked to secure.
A great theater to present special fabrics, clever embellishing, or elegant piecing the tunic can feature a special piece of trim or a strip of pieced fabric. There are several ideas included in the pattern if you need a little help getting started.
